After an AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access service has been enabled, CONNECT Roles and default CONNECT Groups are created in the context of the service.
To grant permissions, you can either assign CONNECT Roles directly to users or add them to CONNECT Groups that have CONNECT Roles assigned.
This exposes an AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access tile for the user in the respective CONNECT folder for the service.
CONNECT Roles
The following CONNECT Roles are created in the context of an AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access service:

The table below explains the permissions granted by these roles:
|
Role |
Permissions |
|
Author |
|
|
Admin |
|
|
Admin File Transfer |
|
Default CONNECT Groups
The following default CONNECT Groups are created in the context of an AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access service with corresponding roles assigned:
|
CONNECT Group |
CONNECT role assigned |
|
AVEVA UE - Browser Access Admins (<CONNECT Folder Structure>) |
Admin |
|
AVEVA UE - Browser Access Admin File Transfer (<CONNECT Folder Structure>) |
Admin File Transfer |
|
AVEVA UE - Browser Access Authors (<CONNECT Folder Structure>) |
Author |
The default CONNECT group names are:
-
Prefixed with AVEVA UE – Browser Access to identify them as AVEVA derived default groups and help differentiate from any custom groups you may choose to create.
-
Suffixed with (<CONNECT Folder structure>) to differentiate between different AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access services enabled in the CONNECT account.
-
<CONNECT Folder Structure> aligns to the CONNECT folder structure under which the AVEVA™ Unified Engineering – Browser Access service is enabled taking the form:
-
<CONNECT Account>-<CONNECT Folder Level1>-<CONNECT Folder Level2>
Note: AVEVA recommends this naming convention for groups to clearly distinguish between groups of various services enabled in various CONNECT Folders, making access via the filter functionality easier.
Custom CONNECT groups
AVEVA Unified Engineering comes with default groups provided out of the box prefixed AVEVA Unified Engineering – Browser Access.
As an administrator you can elect to use the default groups, remove these groups and\or create your own custom groups to manage access.
To create custom groups, assign roles and add users to groups, please refer to the CONNECT documentation.
