External tools are used by AVEVA™ XR Studio to call external processes, applications, or batch/command files to automate and speed up the XR Studio development process. XR Studio enables the developer to add their own External Tools to perform and automate tasks related to the project.

External tools in XR Connected Worker

The XR Connected Worker template contains two external tools, both for creating a release.

  • Make Release Windows creates an application package file (.pak) for running the application on the desktop.

  • Make Release Mobile creates an application package file (.pak) for running the application on an iOS tablet.
