Adapter Configuration Utility

Welcome to AVEVA™ Adapter Configuration Utility

  • Last UpdatedJun 30, 2026
  • 2 minute read

The AVEVA™ Adapter Configuration Utility helps you create, manage, and validate adapter configuration. You can use it to define connection settings, data source details, and runtime options in an intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI).

This guide describes how to use the Adapter Configuration Utility, navigate the available pages and controls, and complete common configuration workflows.

Scope

This guide is intended for administrators and engineers responsible for configuring adapters and maintaining adapter connectivity on a local host. Use it to configure adapters, update existing settings, and validate configuration values before use.

It assumes that the required software is installed, the utility is accessible in a supported browser, and the user has the permissions required to perform configuration tasks.

Key benefits

  • Creates new adapter configuration through a GUI for all current AVEVA adapters.

  • Updates existing configuration settings.

  • Validates configuration values before deployment.

  • Defines connection, source, and runtime settings in a structured format.

  • Includes Quick Start and guided experiences to expedite configuration of adapters from scratch.

  • Import and export full adapter configurations to more quickly manage and roll out multiple configurations.

Limitations

The Adapter Configuration Utility does not replace product-specific planning or external system setup. It does not verify that required infrastructure, credentials, network access, or source system prerequisites are in place. You must still complete product-specific configuration tasks and confirm that the target environment meets all deployment requirements.

The Adapter Configuration Utility supports all current AVEVA adapters. This includes:

Adapter name

Supported version

Azure Event Hubs

1.0.1

BACnet

1.2.0

DNP3

1.2.0

Modbus TCP

1.6.0

MQTT

1.4.0

OPC UA

1.6.0

RDBMS

1.1.0

Structured Data Files

1.1.0

Note: We recommend using the most recent adapter version as older versions of adapters may cause schema inconsistencies that can cause the utility to render incorrect input displays.
