Adapter Configuration Utility

Manage Secrets

Manage Secrets provides a central location to create and maintain encrypted credentials used by adapter configurations. You can use this section to store passwords, client secrets, tokens, and other sensitive values separately from adapter settings.

After a secret is created, reference its secret ID from supported configuration fields instead of entering credentials directly, helping improve security and simplify credential management across adapter configurations.

Note: You can create secrets before configuring adapters or components and later reference those secrets from protected fields such as passwords, client secrets, and certificate passwords.

If you add a new secret manually within one of the facets, such as data endpoints or client failover, the new secret is automatically added to the secrets repository.

To add a new secret to an adapter:

  1. Select the vertical dots ( ) on the adapters main page and choose Manage Secrets to display the pop-up window.

  2. Select Add. The fields within the columns become editable.

  3. Enter the following required parameters:

    • Id - The unique name used to identify a secret. Other adapter configurations reference the secret by this Id instead of storing the sensitive value directly.

    • Value - The secret value to store securely, such as a password, client secret, API key, or authentication token. The adapter encrypts the value before storing it.

You can also enter the following optional fields:

    • Description - Optional text that helps identify the purpose of the secret. This information is for reference only and is not used during authentication.

    • Expiration Date - Enter the date and time when the secret expires.

  4. Select to save the secret.

  5. After creating a secret, you can choose to:

    • Select Close to return to the adapter main page.

    • Select Add to create another secret for the adapter.

    • Select to edit your secret. When you edit an existing secret, you must re-enter or create a new value before saving.

    • Select to delete your secret.
