Start the utility

Open the AVEVA™ Adapter Configuration Utility from your preferred browser shortcut. When you launch the utility, it automatically discovers the adapter or adapters that are installed on your machine and displays them on the main page.

From the main page, you can review the application information (), view the utility log (), refresh the information in the utility or, after selecting an adapter from the list, configure an adapter.

To get started, select your adapter from the list and select Configure Adapter.

Note: If you install a new adapter to your system after installing the Adapter Configuration Utility, refresh the adapter selection table to make the adapter available immediately. If you do not refresh the table, ACU automatically checks for newly installed adapters every 30 minutes after the service starts and adds the adapter when the next discovery interval runs.

Utility log

The Adapter Configuration Utility contains a list of messages detailing actions performed within the utility.

By default, the information in the log is sorted by timestamp, starting with the most recent action. Each page contains 100 entries.

When more than 100 log entries exist, a page indicator () enables at the bottom of the page. This indicator displays the number of pages of log entries and allows you to move quickly between pages.

Note: The log does not contain any information specific to the adapter. Please refer to your adapter's log for further details.

Use the Filter button to display the Log Filter window. From there, you have the option to set up a filter based on a date range, time range, or log level.
