Configure the BACnet data source to let the adapter connect to your BACnet network, discover devices, and collect point data from selected BACnet objects.

Required parameters

The following parameters are required to configure the BACnet data source:

Required parameter

Description

Ip Address

IPv4 address of BACnet device or BACnet router.

Optional parameters

The following parameters are optional to configure the BACnet data source:

Parameter

Description

Stream Id Prefix

Specifies what prefix is used for stream IDs. The naming convention is {StreamIdPrefix}{StreamId}. For example:

BACnet1.{DeviceId}.{ObjectType}{ObjectId}.{PropertyIdentifier}

Default Stream Id Pattern

Specifies the default stream ID pattern to use. For example:

{DeviceIPAddress}, {DeviceId}, {ObjectType}, {ObjectId}, or {PropertyIdentifier}

Port

UDP port number for communication with BACnet devices. The value range for this parameter is 0 to 65535.

Max Concurrent Network Requests

The maximum number of requests that can be sent concurrently on the network. This is not affected by the response time for the requests. A value of zero means no maximum.

Request Delay

The delay between sent requests to an individual device represented in hh:mm:ss.fff format.

Minimum value: 00:00:00.000 for 0 seconds
Maximum value: 00:00:10.000 for 10 seconds

Allowed Consecutive Failed Requests

The number of consecutive failed requests to a device before waiting ReconnectInterval to retry sending requests.

The minimum number of failed requests is three, the maximum is 1000.

Reconnect Interval

The amount of time to wait before attempting to send requests to a device after disconnection represented in hh:mm:ss format.

Device Id

Device instance identification number.

If specified, the IPAddress is interpreted as for a BACnet device (not a BACnet router).

If empty, the IPAddress is interpreted as for a BACnet router (not an individual BACnet device).

Network Number

Device network number for routed BACnet devices.

Note: This setting can only be specified when a Device Id is specified. If specified, the Mac Address must also be specified.

MAC Address

Device MAC address for routed BACnet devices.

Note: This setting can only be specified when a Device Id is specified. If specified, the Network Number must also be specified. It must contain 1-6 byte strings in hexadecimal format, separated by a dash ( - ) or colon ( :). For example, 14:ef:cd2:3

Include Properties

Sets whether the adapter should poll for container overrides.

Supported container overrides for BACnet properties include minimum, maximum, and uom (unit of measurement) for each data selection item.

To enable this option, select the check box.
