Quick start vs​. advanced adapter configuration

After selecting the adapter to configure from the main page, the adapter specific configuration page displays.

From here, you can configure your adapter using the Quick Start workflow or the Advanced configuration workflow.

Note: If your machine has multiple adapters installed, you may choose Select Different Adapter at any time to navigate back to the main page and select a different adapter.

Use the following comparison to determine which configuration approach best fits your environment and deployment requirements.

Quick Start workflow

Use Quick Start when you want to create a basic adapter configuration by following a guided sequence of set-up steps.

A typical Quick Start workflow includes selecting the adapter, entering essential connection and source settings, reviewing generated configuration values, validating the configuration, and saving the result.

Quick Start is best suited for common deployment scenarios where default or minimal settings are sufficient. After you complete Quick Start, review the resulting configuration and update any adapter-specific settings that are required for your environment.

Advanced configuration workflow

Use the advanced configuration workflow when your deployment requires advanced settings, security customization, or adapter-specific tuning.

In a typical full configuration workflow, you open the adapter configuration, define connection settings, configure data source and destination details, specify authentication and certificate settings, review advanced options, validate the configuration, and then save and apply the changes. Use this workflow when you need full control over configuration values or when Quick Start does not include the settings required for your deployment.
