Adapter Configuration Utility

Queries

Query configuration defines how the adapter retrieves data from a data source. It specifies the query text or query settings that the adapter uses to identify the source data, filter the returned results, and determine how data is collected during each scheduled run.

Note: This configuration is available only for the RDBMS adapter.

Follow this procedure to set up queries for transmission to the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. The supported query syntax depends on the ODBC driver you are using. These queries are sent to the driver exactly as defined, and the adapter uses the driver response to collect data.

Refer to the documentation for your ODBC driver for supported query syntax.

To configure a query:

  1. On the Queries page, select Add to display the Add Item window.

  2. Enter the required fields:

    • Query String - Specifies the query text that the adapter sends to the source system. Use this value to define the data to retrieve and to apply any source-specific filters or conditions.

    • Query Id - Specifies the unique ID for the query configuration. The adapter uses this value to reference the query during scheduled data collection.

Note: After creating an Query Id, you can edit it for all adapters except Azure Event Hubs.

  3. Select Save to return to the Queries page.
