Activating License for BI Gateway Model Builder

The BI Gateway product uses the AVEVA Enterprise Licensing component and activation. You must acquire and activate a valid license to work seamlessly with the BI Gateway Model Builder. You can acquire license based on your requirement. You must activate the license using the AVEVA Enterprise License Manager before you actually start building your BI Gateway Model.

NOTE: License is enforced for the Model Builder and Data Source count. If a Model Builder feature license is not acquired, the model builder will start in Deployment version mode. In the case of Data Source count, the system will prevent deployment of additional data sources when the data source count license limit is reached.

If not already installed on a node on the network, install and configure the AVEVA Enterprise License Manager and License Manager. The AVEVA Enterprise License Server and License Manager installation is available as a component of the BI Gateway installation.

Once installed, for information about how to activate the license, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise Licensing documentation available in .\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\Licensing Framework\License Manager.

To activate the BI Gateway Model Builder licenses

1. Make sure you have already configured the AVEVA Enterprise License Manager component. If not, use the post-installation Configurator tool to configure it. For more information, refer to the Configurator Utility section of the BI Gateway Installation Guide.

2. Use the AVEVA Enterprise License Manager to activate your BI Gateway Model Builder licenses.

The AVEVA Enterprise License Manager also allows you to:

• View the BI Gateway Model Builder license usage.

• For an environment in which BI Gateway Model Builder is being used on multiple devices, you can reserve licenses for a specific BI Gateway Model Builder computer.

• Deactivate existing licenses.
