Deploying the BI Gateway Model

You deploy a BI Gateway model or BI Gateway objects to BI Gateway. You can:

• Deploy the entire BI Gateway model.

• Deploy individual BI Gateway objects or deploy BI Gateway objects with their parent dependents. Measure to Dimensions (and Dimension links) and Measure / Dimensions to Data Sources together.

• Deploy BI Gateway objects of the same group together.

Data from deployed data sources is available to deployed dependent dimensions and measures at run time. If you deploy objects of different groups together, then the order of deployment is: Data Sources, Dimensions, and then Measures. If you deploy the parents objects, all the dependent objects will also be updated.

To deploy the BI Gateway Model

1. Open the BI Gateway Home page.

2. Click Deploy All from the main menu to deploy the entire BI Gateway model. The Deploy All Objects dialog box appears.

   

3. Click any of the following:

   • Cancel

   • Keep Data: if you want to retain the existing data in the datastore. You must rename and redeploy the new dimension or measure.

     NOTE: 'Keep Data' may still result in a complete drop of the relevant dimension or measure data if the structure changed.

   • Remove Data: if you want to remove the existing data in the datastore. You must rename and redeploy the new dimension or measure.

     NOTE: To deploy from an individual object, click the Deploy icon.
