Installing the IntelligencePublic Certificate File

You can install the default IntelligencePublic.pfx file or your custom certificate file on the computer from where you want to access the BI Gateway Model Builder application remotely. Before you install the certificate file, make sure you copy the certificate file from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Wonderware\Intelligence\Bin\certificate folder and paste it to your remote computer from where you are going to access the BI Gateway Model Builder application.

NOTE: The self-signed certificates are set to expire after 5 year. Make sure you renew the certificates after 5 years by re-configuring BI Gateway Model Builder” feature and then need to re-install the certificates. For more information, refer to the Configuring BI Gateway Model Builder section in the BI Gateway Installation Guide.

To install the IntelligencePublic.pfx file

  1. Right-click the IntelligencePublic.pfx file and then click Install PFX. The Welcome dialog box appears.

  2. In the Store Location area, click Local Machine and then click Next. The File to Import dialog box appears.

  3. In the File name box, specify the file that you want to install. Alternatively, click Browse and select the file from the copied location. By default, the File name displays the location of the file that you are going to install.

  4. Click Next. The Private key protection dialog box appears.

  5. In the Password box, do not specify any password for your IntelligencePublic.pfx file and keep it blank.

  6. Keep the default Include all extended properties check box selected and then click Next. The Certificate Store dialog box appears.

  7. Click Place all certificates in the following store and then click Browse. The Select Certificate Store dialog box appears.

  8. Click Trusted Root Certification Authorities and then click OK. The Place all certificates in the following store box displays the selected certificate store.

  9. Click Next. The Completing the Certificate Import Wizard dialog box appears and displays the summary information of the certificates that you have chosen.

  10. Click Finish. A confirmation message appears.

  11. Click OK.

    The certificate file is successfully installed.
