Configuration Workflow for AVEVA Graphical Changes Service

Prerequisite

To configure AVEVA Graphical Changes Service

  1. In the Windows Search field, type Unified to display the best match.

  2. Click Open to display the Projects window.

  3. Click Select on a project tile to display the Modules and Setup window. For example,click Select on the ProjAPS tile

  4. Click Open Utilities Apps to display a context menu.

  5. Click GCS Config Editor to display the Graphical Changes Service Configuration window.

  6. Configure the AVEVA Graphical Changes Service. For more information, see Configuration Window of AVEVA Graphical Changes Service.

  7. Open Windows Command Prompt, enter the following command and press Enter. This command runs Graphical Changes Service once. Then, follow the next steps to verify that the service is running.

    C:\>ue -t:GraphicalChangesService

  8. Navigate to the Windows Task Manager and check that the following services are running on the Details tab:

    • Aveva.Core3D.GraphicalChangesMonitor.exe.

    • Aveva.Core3D.GraphicalChangesService.exe.

  9. Navigate to the AVEVA Unified Engineering Model projects, for example, C:\Users\Public\Documents\AVEVA\Projects\UE\AvevaPlantSample.

  10. Check the GCDcache folder is populated with the content of the ARF graphical view cache.

  11. Launch AVEVA Unified Engineering and select the Model module, the Graphical Explorer View displays by default on initial entry of the application. The Graphical Explorer View is populated with the contents of the cache.

    If you exit AVEVA Unified Engineering with the Graphical Explorer View displayed, the Graphical Explorer View displays by default when the next session is launched.

    If the Graphical Explorer View is not displayed when AVEVA Unified Engineering is exited, the Graphical Explorer View does not display when the next session is launched. To display the Graphical Explorer View, on the View tab, in the Views group, click Graphical Explorer.
