AVEVA NET Gatekeeper and AVEVA Change Manager

Upload the Class Library

To upload the Class Library to the database you have to complete the following tasks:

  1. Access the AVEVA NET Gatekeeper and AVEVA Change Manager Administration page.

  2. Upload the Class Library.

To log on to AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager:

  1. Go to the log on page by entering the appropriate URL in a web browser.

    Note: To check the compatible web browsers, see System Requirements.

  2. On the log on page enter your User Name and Password.

  3. Click Login.

    A single user as part of the initial AVEVA NET Gatekeeper and AVEVA Change Manager configuration, will be automatically added as an Administrator. You need to use the username and password linked to this pre-defined User Profile to log on to AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager. The default Administrator user for AVEVA NET Gatekeeper and AVEVA Change Manager is tima. This user should exist in AVEVA NET Portal or AVEVA NET Workhub and Dashboard. If user management is using Active Directory, tima should also exist in the relevant Domain group.

    You will be automatically redirected to the Administration page when you first log on to AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager. Until the Class Library is uploaded into AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager (and while the Class Library is being updated) only the system administrator will be allowed to log on. All other users will get the message displayed on the top of the log on page explaining the situation when attempting to log on. This is to prevent users from creating data that might be incompatible with the Class Library. As soon as the Class Library is uploaded and all applicable products are running against the same version of the Class Library, the users will be able to work with AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager properly.

    Trouble with log on

    Upload the Class Library

    To upload the Class Library in AVEVA NET Gatekeeper or AVEVA Change Manager:

    1. Go to the Administration page, in the Other Tasks section, click System Settings.

    2. To select a file containing the Class Library to upload, in System Settings, click Install Updates.

    3. On the Upload Updates dialog box, click Browse to select the file containing the Class Library definition. The upper limit for the size of the uploaded file can be configured, by default the maximum file size limit is 100MB.

    4. Click OK. If you want to cancel the upload of a Class Library definition, click Abort.

      You will see an error message if you try to upload the Class Library Definition of an earlier version or if the file is not in a supported format.

    5. Check the details about the Class Library Definition and then click Update the Class Library to initiate the upload.

    6. You will see the progress of the upload in the Updates the Class Library dialog box.

    7. After the upload is complete, the Updates the Class Library dialog box will close and the successful update message will be displayed.

      Notes:
      - If you want to cancel the upload of a Class Library definition, click Abort.
      - The size of the file to be uploaded can be configured, by default the maximum file size limit is 100MB.
      - You will see an error message if you try to upload the Class Library of an earlier version or if the provided Class Library file is not in a supported format.
