CONNECT flows

Build flows

CONNECT flows centralizes development and control of data pipelines, called flows, and supports local processing and analytics. CONNECT flows collects and analyzes data close to where the data resides, whether it's on-premises behind firewalls, in the cloud or at the edge in field-deployed assets. With a clear separation between the management and execution environments, CONNECT flows lets you decide where each flow processes data, while managing everything from within its central Software as a Service (SaaS) application.

Connection to your data is your flow. It's as simple as designing, testing, and deploying a flow. You can quickly build applications by snapping together pre-built modules into your processing flows using Flow Studio. You then test and verify your flows from the cloud and decide which execution environments (flow runtimes) are used for each situation. Once a flow has been deployed into a flow runtime, all processing happens locally.

flows_overview

The CONNECT flows application consists of two main working areas:

  • Flow manager

  • Flow Studio

Flow manager

Flow manager is used to design the processing flows to run in flow runtime by using the flow studio visual designer. Test your flows from within the flow studio, by running them on the flow runtimes that have access to the systems used by your flow. Deploy your verified flows into one or several flow runtimes and then monitor your distributed execution using the flow Watch monitoring tools.

Flow Studio

Flow studio is the low-code development tool used to build and test flows.
