AVEVA™ Integration Studio

Capture an instance

  • Last UpdatedNov 26, 2025

You can capture, or "clone," a running instance once for each template to preserve the state of the template at a particular time.

When you capture an instance, AVEVA Integration Studio:

  • Stops the instance

  • Clones the nodes

  • Creates a system suite

  • Creates a project template

When you capture an instance, that instance is locked until the instance is successfully captured. During the capturing process, you cannot start, stop, edit, delete, or connect to the instance.

To capture an instance

  1. Ensure that the instance is running.

  2. Open the Project Templates page.

  3. Expand a project template that contains the instance to capture.

  4. Select 3dots_gray and then select Capture Instance.

    A confirmation dialog appears.

  5. Select Create new public system suite to provide account-level access to the instance. Otherwise, a hidden system suite is created and is not visible for selection.

  6. Select Capture.

The instance is cloned as a new project template.

A new system suite is created.

Note: Capturing a project template instance may take a lot of time. An estimation of the clone process appears beside the instance on the Project Templates page.
