Create an instance

To create an instance

1. On the Project Templates page, to the right of the project template name, select and then select New Instance.

   The Create new instance page displays the predefined settings for this project template.

2. Mark the Send email... check box if you want to be notified when the instance is ready.

   Enter one or more email addresses, separated by semicolons.

3. Enter an Instance name.

   If you do not enter a name, the template, plus a number, becomes the name.

4. If applicable, Select an Instance owner from the list.

   This determines the owner of the instance.

   Note: If you assign an instance to another owner and set the Instance visibility to Private, then you can only see the instance if you are an administrator.

5. If needed, change the settings for the instance:

   • Hosting Region

   • Expiration period

     Set this to 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.

     The system deletes the instance when all all nodes are in the stopped state for the selected amount of time. For details, see Expire an instance.

   • Instance visibility

     Public allows everyone to see the instance. Private allows only you and other administrators to see it.

   • Launch parameters

6. Select Launch Instance.

   A new instance, initially marked orange while still being created, appears on the Project templates page. The instance is ready to use when the left side turns green.
