Access to account during installation

During the installation of Oracle database, the SYS user password will be needed.

SYS user

The SYS user grants the COW_OWNER user created during the process the required rights to access the OSM database.

SYS will also be used for these remaining steps:

• Creating application users such as COW_USER and COW_READ. These are used by AVEVA™ Operational Safety Management Administration and AVEVA™ Operational Safety Management Web Application.

• Loading a new patch set or running an upgrade.

Data pump area requirement

During the setup of AVEVA™ Operational Safety Management, some database data needs to be loaded.

A data pump area will be needed for the .dmp file containing data that can be loaded into the database.
