Lock a Workflow for Editing

You can Lock or Unlock a Workflow, Process Designer, Forms Designer, and List designer while editing.

When the designer or the list item is locked, other users are not allowed to edit or modify it. A lock icon will appear beside the list item if the designer is locked.

The following image shows the representations of different types of lock supported by AVEVA Work Tasks:

Lock Legends

A locked list item can have one of the following Lock icon beside it:

: Item is manually locked by user who is currently logged in.

: Item it is locked by other users.

: Item is automatically locked by user who is currently logged in.

Functionality of Lock and Unlock

• You can select and right-click the list item to be locked and unlocked, and then select Lock or Unlock from the menu.

• Every list item opened for editing will get locked automatically, even though the item is not locked manually.

• Name of the user who has locked the list item can be viewed by placing the cursor on the Lock icon.

• Only the user who has locked the list item or the users from the administrative security group can Unlock the list item.
