Use the Security option to prevent event providers from appearing in the Association window based on users' security group membership.

Example:

The scenario describes how a user who has Contributor rights should not be allowed to view the Enterprise Console option in the Association screen.

  1. Select the event provider in which the owner information has to be changed.

  2. Select and right-click an event provider, and then select Security Settings from the context menu. The security settings page appears.

  3. In the Advanced Settings, select Customize Security Group for this List Item.

  4. Select a Security Group Name. For example, Contributor.

  5. On the Action bar, select Edit. The Modify a Security Group page appears. Alternatively, right-click Contributor, and then select Edit from the context menu.

  6. The Can Consume Item right is enabled at both the repository and item levels. Uncheck it to prevent the Contributor security group from accessing the Enterprise Console list.

  7. Select Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

  8. Select Yes to synchronize all the listitems. A message about successfully modifying the security group appears.

  9. Select OK.

  10. Log on as a user who has Contributor rights. For example, AVEVA Work Tasks provides a default user, George with contributor rights.

  11. Go to Workflows.

  12. Select any workflow, and then select Associate on the action bar. The Association page appears.

  13. The contributor user cannot view the Enterprise Console in the Association page.
Ensure that the Can Create Association right is set to True to perform this action.

  14. Log on as the administrator user.

  15. Point to admin, and then select Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

  16. In the Advanced Settings tab, select Manage Navigation List.

  17. Select a Navigation Link, and then select Security.

  18. In the Advanced Settings tab, select Remove Security from this ListItem to remove security from this list item.

Ensure that the Can View Item right is checked for all the levels. If this right is unchecked, then this option will be removed from the navigation list.
