About the Oracle SYS user

Before you create the standard OSM Database users, you will need to use the Oracle SYS account to connect to Oracle.

The SYS account and password are created by the Oracle Database Administrator.

Valid characters

The SYS password can only have these legal characters when creating the OSM database:

• a to z

• A to Z

• 0 (zero) to 9

• $

• #

• _ (underscore)

All other characters are not valid.

Changing the SYS password

The SYS password can be changed after the creation of the OSM database.
