Oracle Data Pump
Oracle Data Pump provides methods for backup and export and import of the Oracle database.
The OSM Database uses Oracle data pump functionality when loading data.
Set data pump area
The data pump area must be set to a given path on the Oracle server and the path must exist on the Oracle server. There is a check box option to set the recommended path for the OSM data pump area.
Permissions
By default, the only Oracle user with permissions to create dump files is SYS user. In order to perform the Set data pump area action, the cow_owner account requires SYS privileges, which must be granted to the cow_owner manually.
It's possible to check if cow_owner has the privileges to create a dumpfile.
Check if dumpfile can be created

Click Can dumpfile be created?
A temporary file is created on the Oracle server in the data pump area to test the privileges.

Set data pump area

Select the Set data pump area radio button.

Enter the path to the data pump area.

(Optional) Click Get current area button to set path to current.

Click Set area to perform the task.


When the path has been set, a confirmation message displays at the bottom of the screen.
