Email - Anonymize

OSM has possibility to send e-mails to users. It is possible to anonymize email addresses. You might want to do this in a test environment when generating test e-mails, so that real users do not get test e-mails.

Note: Be aware that this task MUST not be done in a production environment. It is usually used when a production database is copied to a test database.

Guidelines

  • Prefix of email address (characters before @) will be set to a random set of digits.

  • Postfix of email address (characters after @) will be set to value emailstore.osm.com.

    Examples:

    • 1.8147636196153452730612078465@emailstore.osm.com

    • 2.4108788188009114034458088103@emailstore.osm.com

  • If a set of users should not have their emails changed, then this is possible either by entering a code for an access group or a code for a company unit. Users that are members of the group or linked to the company unit will not have their email addresses changed.

  • Task can take up to several minutes before it is finished.
