AVEVA PI System Connector 3 (PSC3) replicates digital state sets referenced by the PI points that the connector collects data for from the source Data Archive to the destination Data Archive. However, updates to the digital sets are not currently supported. When a digital state is edited on the source Data Archive(s), the corresponding digital state on the destination Data Archive will need to be updated manually.
The SYSTEM digital state set on the destination Data Archive must also match exactly the SYSTEM digital state set on the source Data Archive(s). Inconsistent SYSTEM digital state set might result in mismatching data.
Note: Just as PSC3 does not provide support for replicating the deletion of PI points from a source server, the connector also does not replicate the deletion of digital state sets from the source.
The PSC3 supports replication of PI Digital State Sets that contain empty states. An empty state is defined as a zero-length string, or a string containing tab, carriage return, or newline characters.
