The following health points are installed and updated when the AVEVA PI System Connector Broker service is running. The Broker exposes a smaller set of counters focused on connectivity status and error tracking.

General

Health Point

Description

Heart Beat

A liveness indicator that increments by 1 every 5 seconds, cycling from 0 to 15 and then resetting.

A steadily incrementing value confirms the service is running and responsive.

Incoming Device Status

Indicates the Connector's link to the source PI System.

A value of 305 (Good) indicates that the connection is established and healthy.

A value of 307 (Bad) indicates that the connection is lost and unavailable.

When service is stopped, the counter is set to 307 (Disconnected).

These values match the entries in the SYSTEM Digital State Set.

Outgoing Device Status

Indicates the Connector's link to the destination, which can be either a PI Server (in direct-connect mode) or a Broker.

A value of 305 (Good) indicates that the connection is established and healthy.

A value of 307 (Bad) indicates that the connection is lost and unavailable.

When service is stopped, the counter is set to 307 (Disconnected).

Error Count

A running count of errors encountered since the service was last started. This counter resets to 0 on service restart.
