Snapshot PI point selection

In addition to supporting snapshot replication for PI points that have compression disabled/off as indicated by the PI point attribute compressing=0, AVEVA PI System Connector 3 (PSC3) supports user defined queries to select PI points for snapshot replication.

Snapshot replication queries are defined once but evaluated per data source based on the PI Server specified in the Snapshot Queries table. Queries cannot be executed on AF Only data sources, only on Data Archive Only and AF and Data Archive data sources with the following conditions:

• Data Archive Only: Each query applies only to data sources that reference the matching PI Server.

• AF and Data Archive: Each query only applies to PI Points that both reside on the matching PI Server and are referenced by the AF data included in the data source.

Snapshot replication settings for each of these data sources are defined in the PI Data section of its Overview page, after you select the data source. To simplify queries, users can set up several snapshot queries to pick out the specific PI Points they want for snapshot data replication.
