Network requirements

For efficient operation, AVEVA PI System Connector 3 (PSC3) must have a low-latency, high-bandwidth connection to the source server. The connection to the PI System Connector Broker should have enough bandwidth to export the compressed AF database in under 10 minutes.

This is particularly important to PSC3 users with large databases.

Note: To test the efficiency of a network, open PI System Explorer, then under the Database tab click Export to file. Zip the file that is created for export and copy the zipped file from the PSC3 host to the PI System Connector Broker host. If it takes more than 10 minutes to complete the transfer of data to the broker, additional network resources are likely required.
