The Viewpoint feature enables you to save and restore specific views and states of 3D models within the 3D Viewer.
This allows you to capture important perspectives, configurations, and visual states of your 3D models for future reference and collaboration.
User rights for Viewpoint
As a default user you can (that is, users without the CreateViewpoint rights) view and load existing viewpoints but cannot create, edit, or delete them.
Before you can create viewpoints, ensure the following:

Create multiple Viewpoints
You can create multiple viewpoints for a single 3D model, share them with other users, or keep them personal. Additionally, you can set a default viewpoint that is automatically applied when the 3D model is opened.
A viewpoint captures the following information from your 3D model:

Create a Viewpoint
To create a viewpoint:

Open a 3D model in the 3D Viewer.

Configure the view as desired by adjusting these:
-
camera angle,
-
hiding or isolating elements
-
applying materials
-
setting other visual preferences.

Click Tools in the viewer menu.

Select Viewpoint from the dropdown menu.

In the Viewpoint dialog box, click Create New Viewpoint or the + (plus) button.

Enter the following information:

Name: Provide a descriptive name for the viewpoint

Description: (Optional) Add additional details about the viewpoint

If required, select the Personal checkbox if you want to keep this viewpoint personal. By doing this only you can view and use personal viewpoints.

Click Save.
The viewpoint is now created and associated with the 3D model.
Apply a Viewpoint
To apply a saved viewpoint to a 3D model:

Open the 3D model in the 3D Viewer.

Click Tools in the viewer menu.

Select Viewpoint.

In the Viewpoint panel, you will see a list of available viewpoints for this model.

Click on the viewpoint you want to apply and click on Load button.

The viewer automatically adjusts the camera, visibility, materials, and other settings to match the saved viewpoint.
Note: The viewpoint list displays all shared viewpoints and any personal viewpoints you have created.
Setting a Default Viewpoint
You can designate one viewpoint as the default for a 3D model. When the model is opened, the default viewpoint is automatically applied.
To set a default viewpoint:

Open the 3D model in the 3D Viewer.

Click Tools > Viewpoint in the viewer menu.

Select the viewpoint you want to set as default from the list.

Click Set as Default.
A confirmation message appears.

Click Yes to confirm.
You can have a shared default viewpoint which would be default viewpoint for all users on that model. Along with that you can have a personal default viewpoint as well.
A personal viewpoint Set as Default appears over a shared viewpoint set as default.
Editing a Viewpoint
To edit an existing viewpoint:

Open the 3D model in the 3D Viewer.

Click Tools > Viewpoint in the viewer menu.

Select the viewpoint you want to edit from the list.

Click the Edit button (pencil icon).

Modify the viewpoint settings as needed. You can update the Name, Description, or change the view configuration.

To update the visual state, adjust the 3D model view.

Click Save to apply your changes.
Note: You cannot change the 3D model that a viewpoint is associated with.
Deleting a Viewpoint
To delete a viewpoint:

Open the 3D model in the 3D Viewer.

Click Tools > Viewpoint in the viewer menu.

Select the viewpoint you want to delete.

Click the Delete button (trash icon).

Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Warning: Deleting a viewpoint is permanent and cannot be undone. If you delete a default viewpoint, no default viewpoint is set for the model.
Shared vs. Personal Viewpoints
Viewpoints can be created as either shared or personal:
Shared Viewpoints
-
Visible to all users who have access to the 3D model.
-
Can be edited by any user with CreateViewpoint and EditViewpoint rights.

Can be set as the default viewpoint for the model.
-
Ideal for collaboration and standardizing views across teams.
Personal Viewpoints
-
Visible only to the user who created them.
-
Cannot be seen or accessed by other users.
-
Can be set as default viewpoint but only for the person who has created them.

Useful for individual working preferences and temporary views.
