Search Categories

Faceted search facilitates search for any specific term which can appear in any of the below mentioned fields with respect to the category.

Search for tags, events, tasks, locations, physical equipment, activity 

The search term entered in the Tags, Events, Tasks, Locations, Physical Equipment, Activity category will be matched against the following fields, in the given order of importance, for all tags in the system:

1. Tag name

2. Tag ID

3. Class name

4. Aliases

Therefore, if the search term matches a specific tag name, the system considers it more relevant to the user than other search terms, such as a class name.

Search for documents

The system matches the search term entered in the Documents category against the following fields for all documents, in the given order of relevance.

5. File Content

6. Document name

7. Document ID

8. File ID

9. Document type (class name)

The relevance order is used in calculating the relevance of a result.

Search for 3D models

The search term entered in the 3D Models category against the following fields, in the given order of relevance, for all documents in the system:

10. Document name

11. Document ID

12. File ID

13. Document type (class name)

Search with applicable types

Applicable types is available if any category is selected except All, as shown in the screenshot:

Documents is selected, and Applicable types is enabled.

This allows to select all applicable types under Tags. for example on selection of Tags, and clicking on Applicable types would open a drop-down:

These applicable types can be selected, so that results can be filtered.

Search All

The search term entered in the All category is matched against all the types Tags, Documents, Events, Tasks, Locations, 3D Models, Physical Equipment, Activity fields as mentioned previously.

As shown in the following screenshot:

• The search term "IED" will be searched in all the types Tags, Documents, Events, Tasks, Locations, 3D Models, Physical Equipment, Activity categories.

  The results shown match any of the categories.

  

Search within Document

Selecting Within Document from the search bar allows the search criteria to be applied to the contents of documents as well as the IDs and names.

The following screenshots display the same search with and without the Within Document filter applied.

With Within Documents applied, results then give the option to view only results from Documents, Document contents or both, by selecting accordingly on the left hand side links.

Note: For each content result, the system displays a page number that indicates where the matching content begins within the document. If the content spans multiple pages, the system displays the page number of the first page containing the content. For example, if the content starts on page 1 and continues to page 2, the UI displays Page Number: 1.
