Document Content search requires "Search In Document Content" checkbox to be checked.
Here are the different scenarios for Document and Document Content search:
Scenario 1: If under Types, Documents is selected and "Search In Document Content" is left unchecked,
result will be calculated on these :

Document name
-
Document ID
-
File ID
-
Document type (class name)

Scenario 2: If "Documents" is selected in Types and "Search In Document Content" is checked, result would be included with content search:
The order of relevance is:

File content
-
Document name
-
Document ID
-
File ID
-
Document type (class name)

Note: You can enclose the search phrase in double quotes to get a match for the exact phrase.
Scenario 3: If "All" is selected in the Types, and "Search In Document Content" is not checked, the result would not include Document content. If selected, it would include document content in the results.
Search Indexing Limitations
The maximum file size enabled for indexing is 2 GB and the file must have one of the following mime types, otherwise the file will not be indexed:

application/rtf

application/vnd.ms-excel
-
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet

application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document

image/svg+xml

image/vnd.dwg
-
text/plain
Note: The indexing of files uses the available text within the file and does not include an OCR process.
