Windows and General In-canvas Functions

Windows are used for display of and interaction with manufacturing parts and can be of different types:

  • To display and interact with a 3D representation of the parts.

  • To display and interact with plate and profile nestings.

  • To display sketches stored in PDF format.

A nesting session can generate quite many windows and a function, Arrange Windows, is available to simplify the arrangement for optimal usage of canvas. The function can be found in the View tab and is described below in the Function Overview chapter.

When working in a window general In-canvas functions are available, for example for zooming and panning. In-canvas functions are activated by simply writing in the canvas, for example z for zoom and then further values can be keyed in or using arrow down to get options to select from. The window below shows options for zooming:

The general In-canvas functions and other canvas functionality is fully described in AVEVA E3D™ / Design and Modelling / Common Functionality / Introduction / Getting Started.
