Properties on all nesting elements are defined in attributes and can be viewed in the attribute panel and changed using commands in the Command window. All attributes are presented in the attribute panel, however, they are not presented in a very user-friendly way. The intention is to have a complete view of all properties as stored in the element and changing properties in this way may be cumbersome and can lead to incorrect model elements if wrong values are given. The Property Grid panel should be used to modify and view properties. The Property Grid presents relevant property information in a format that is suitable to view and possibly change in case it is allowed. Information is presented with enumerations in drop-down lists and validation checks are done on inserted data.

Property Grids are available and can be used for updates on Nestings (plate and profiles), Nested Parts (plate and profile), Gaps, Starts, Corner Loops, Labels and Bridges. Furthermore, all part entities, for example, holes, markings are presented for viewing and inspection. Furthermore, all part entities, for example, holes, markings are presented for viewing, inspection and editing.

The graphical identification in a nest made by picking will highlight one or many identified parts. To get entities selected that belongs to parts, Gaps, Starts, Corner Loops, Labels, markings and holes the selection needs to ‘step into’ the part. This is done using a function Part Content Mode on the Home tab of the ribbon or to write ‘in’ as an in-canvas command. Selections are then made on the features belonging to the selection of the part. When ready the same function is used or the in-canvas command ‘out’ is written as in-canvas command.
