Part Selection

The scope of work when nesting is defined, for example by some assemblies, a complete manufacturing package or in any other way, may be using the result from a planning system. In either way, the parts menu functionality supplied with the system is the tool to organize the nesting work.
The Part Selection menu is a modal function that presents the plates and the profiles graphically, considering machine restrictions and other user defined filters, in an organized way to simplify the nesting process.

The manufacturing data that is added to the parts menu is organized in tabs, per thickness and quality if plates and per profile type, dimension and quality if profiles.
Parts are presented with a graphical image, the part name, number of equal parts, information if part contains bevel and a size (circumscribed rectangle or length together with a graphical size indicator showing small medium or large parts at a glance). Automatic reflection is made if asked for in the nesting settings and parts are transformed to have the longest geometry between two knuckle points down along the X-axis. Cutouts and notches are not considered when looking for knuckle points.
Parts can be presented with thumbnails, tiles or with details. A right-click on one of the parts will show a function that removes the indicated part from the parts menu.
When nestings are created the machines assigned to these nestings are noted in the menu and machine restrictions are applied as filters to the part selection.
