The Parts menu is loaded with parts on user request and it can be done in different ways.
-
Make the selection in the 3D canvas and use the function 3D to Part Selection on the Home tab of the ribbon.
-
In the Manufacturing Tree browser select an assembly, a folder or individual parts and drag into the Parts menu or use right-click to select a function to add to the Parts menu. Parts on the selected level in the tree and below will be added to the Parts menu.
-
Select folders or individual parts in the flexible explorer and drag into the Parts menu.
-
Drop a file in the part selection. The file should be a text file containing the names of the parts that should be collected. The names must be separated by ","(comma), ";"(semi-colon), space, tab or line break. Text that does not represent a part will be disregarded.
Equal parts (that means, parts with the same identity) can be sorted together and clustered to prepare parts for an optimal nesting. Clustering is done by using the function Clustering in the Home tab. The maximum size of parts to be clustered can be controlled by a default in the nesting settings.
Parts that are already nested are not added to the Parts menu. If an already nested part for some reason needs to be nested more than once, it must be added to the nest directly from the manufacturing tree browser.
A Get Work operation will not automatically reload the Parts menu with new images of parts. If a Get Work is performed, it might be needed to manually reload the Parts menu.
