When you activate the OI Gateway, it starts communicating and accepting requests from client applications. If a OI Server is configured as an automatic service, the OI Server is started and activated when the computer starts up. Also, a OI Server can be activated by the an OPC client connection request, but only out-of-proc..
To activate the OI Gateway
-
In the Operations Integration Server Manager, navigate to the OI Gateway.
-
Expand Operations Integration Server Manager, expand Default Group, and then expand Local or the remote computer name.
-
Expand Wonderware - Gateway.
-
-
Right-click OI.Gateway.1 and then click Activate Server.
Deactivating your OI Gateway stops it from communicating with client applications.
