Verifying a Self-Signed Certificate from an Untrusted MQTT Data Source

Verifying a Self-Signed Certificate from an Untrusted MQTT Data Source

If you have enabled MQTT Connection Security and the OI Gateway determines that a broker is using an untrusted (self-signed) digital certificate, it allows the connection to the broker, but displays a yellow security icon with the message, "Connection to the broker is secured and untrusted."

To verify the digital certificate:

  1. Click the Download button.

  2. Click the browse (...) button to view the self-signed certificate of the broker. Do not connect to a broker if you do not trust its self-signed certificate.
