Configuring an OPC UA Data Source Object

To add an OPC UA data source object to your OI Gateway Hierarchy

  1. Right-click Configuration in the hierarchy, and select Add OPCUA Object from the shortcut menu. A new object is created in the hierarchy tree, named "New_OPCUA_000" by default. Rename it, if desired. You are allowed to add an unlimited number of OPC UA data sources.

  2. Configure the OPC UA object.

    1. Browse the Server Node using the browse button.

    2. Select an OPCUA Server from the server list box.

    3. Configure Allow Optional Data Type Suffix in Item Name. When selected, this parameter adds data type as a suffix to an item name. This parameter is hot configurable. For more information about OPC UA data type suffixes, see OPC UA Item Names and Syntax.

  3. Configure OPC UA security using the Advanced Configuration items. See Configuring OPC UA Security for how-to information.

  4. Configure the OPC UA Namespace. See Configuring the OPC UA Namespace for how-to information.
