Import External Viewpoints from ​.nwd files

This function can extract viewpoints by uploading Navisworks files through the ingestion API. These extracted viewpoints are available in the dashboard.

Processing flow

1. Upload your 3D model file(s) (e.g., model-name.nwd) as per existing procedure described in Simple File Upload.

2. Check Viewpoints in dashboard:

   1. Navigate to the AIM Dashboard.

   2. Locate the imported 3D Model object.

   3. Open the 3D viewer for the model.

      Available viewpoints appear in the Viewpoint panel.

   4. Select a viewpoint to navigate to that saved view.

      

3. To update or delete created viewpoints, you can re-upload a new .nwd file with updated or deleted viewpoints with the same name.

Considerations and limitations

• The imported viewpoints cannot be deleted or edited through the dashboard UI.

• Supported file format: .nwd (Navisworks).

• While creating viewpoints for .nwd file, Viewpoint names must be unique within a model.
