About AVEVA Gateway for Unified Engineering

The gateway is an add-in to AVEVA™ E3D Design that enables you to publish the data from models and reports to AVEVA™ Asset Information Management. For this, a configuration must be defined that specifies how the data must be published. After the configuration is defined, you can publish the elements of a model and/or reports to AVEVA AIM using the configuration. The gateway processes and converts data from AVEVA™ E3D Design into a compatible file format that can be loaded into AVEVA AIM.

Using the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) process, the gateway extracts the required information from AVEVA™ E3D Design, applies the specified mappings and filters and displays it in AVEVA AIM in a user-friendly format. The gateway achieves this by creating an XML file called the Engineering Information and Workflow Model (EIWM) file that contains the information related to the models or elements that are exported. The EIWM files are then imported into AVEVA™ Asset Information Management using the Import Controller, and the data is displayed in AVEVA™ Asset Information Management. You can also generate graphical data for the selected elements or models in XGL or ZGL format.

The gateway also enables you to generate the output in JSON and CSV formats and make the output available for AVEVA Ingestion Service.
