You can publish the data by clicking Gateway in the Export group of the Interfaces tab of AVEVA™ E3D Design.

To publish data using user interface:

  1. Click Interfaces > Gateway. The Gateway window appears.

Note: You can also right-click an element in the Model Explorer and select Publish to AVEVA AIM to pen the Gateway window.

  2. In the Model Explorer of AVEVA™ E3D Design, select the element that you want to export.

  3. In the Elements tab, select the type of element you want to export. The elements you select here are published for the Model data.

    The following types are available:

    • CE: Current element

    • CE Members: Current element members

    • Current Selection: Current selection in AVEVA™ E3D Design

    • Current Collection: Current collection in AVEVA™ E3D Design

    • Drawlist: Current drawing in AVEVA™ E3D Design

Note: The icons Add Element, Remove Element and Remove All Elements enable you to add and remove elements.

  4. If you want to publish the reports, click the Reports tab, and do the following:

    1. Select a report from the Please select an item list. This list contains Product, Project and User options and resembles the available reports in the Tools > Run Reports functionality.

Note: If you want add an additional location to the list, click the folder icon and select the folder of your choice. The location is added to the list. You can use the Remove and Remove all icons to remove the selected reports.

    2. Repeat the above step to add more reports.

    3. After the required reports are added, select the Selected Elements check box for the report for which you want to restrict the output according to the elements selected for export in the Elements tab.

  5. The Configuration selection area lists all the configurations available. Select the Selected check box corresponding to the configurations you want to use.

You can select more than one configuration. However, you must make sure that the combination of the configurations is meaningful to the AVEVA™ Asset Information Management user. Also, to avoid the overwriting of files, you must make sure that the staging areas within the configurations are not the same.

Note: The outdated configurations, if any, are displayed using a red exclamation mark with the following tooltip: "This configuration is outdated. Please contact your configuration administrator for upgrade." For information about outdated configurations, see Load a Configuration.

  6. After you have selected all the required elements and reports, click Publish to publish the selected data.

Note: If you are publishing the data for AVEVA Ingestion Service, on clicking Publish, you will be prompted for your AVEVA Connect credentials. The data is published only after the credentials are validated.

The publish process begins. The progress bar displays the progress of the Publish process along with the element that is currently being published. Simultaneously, the Log View area displays the log entries for the Publish process. The log entries are displayed according to the logging level defined in the selected configuration(s).

After the Publish process is complete, the data is published and the output files are generated at the locations mentioned as staging areas. A summary for the export is generated at the location mentioned for the log files.
