Publish Data

You can publish the data from AVEVA™ E3D Design to AVEVA™ Asset Information Management through the user interface, the command line and using PML macros.

Note: The data you want to publish must be saved before you can publish.

The following points must be noted about the output files:

• The actual output for an export depends both on the classes selected in the configuration and the elements selected for publishing. Some examples are as follows:

  • If you have selected PIPE class in the configuration and selected a SITE element for publishing, all the PIPE elements present in the SITE are exported. In this case, the number of EIWM files generated is equal to the number of PIPEs in the SITE.

  • If you have selected PIPE class in the configuration and selected a PIPE element for publishing, then only the PIPE element is exported.

  • If you have selected SITE class in the configuration and selected a PIPE element for the publishing, there will not be any output.

• Similarly, the number of XGL/ZGL files generated for an export also depends on your selection in the configuration. Some examples are as follows:

  • If you are publishing an EQUIP element and have chosen to generate an XGL/ZGL file for it, then an XGL/ZGL file for the equipment are generated.

  • If you are publishing a SITE element and have chosen to generate an XGL/ZGL file at the EQUIP level, then an XGL/ZGL for each EQUIP element present in the SITE is generated.

• The output for the reports is dependent on the classes selected in the configuration, the elements selected for publishing and the report selected for publishing.

  • If you have selected a SITE element type in the configuration, selected the SITE-EQUIPMENT-AREA01 element for publishing and have opted for a report on the equipments, then a report is generated only for the equipments available in the SITE-EQUIPMENT-AREA01 element.
