Upgrade the Configuration

If you have upgraded the gateway and are loading the configuration for the first time after the upgrade, the Batch configuration upgrade message is displayed.

Click Yes to upgrade the configuration. An upgraded configuration enables you to use all the latest features of the gateway. If you click No, you can not use the configuration until individual configurations are upgraded to latest.

Note: After upgrading the configuration from version 1.4.2 to version 1.5 or later, the persisted attribute(s) may be available for all selected classes irrespective of whether the attribute is present in the class. An error message "Does not have attribute <attribute>" may be displayed if you are publishing using a configuration that has persisted attribute(s). To resolve this, after upgrading the configuration, you must make sure that the persisted attribute mapping is removed manually from all such classes where it is not applicable and save the configuration.

Also, before upgrading the gateway, you can clear the Persist check box in the configuration for the attributes that are present in only certain classes.

For example, consider the attribute ANGL which is applicable to only to the NOZZLE class. After upgrading the configuration, the attribute may be incorrectly added to the other classes if the Persist check box for the attribute is selected in the configuration. To resolve this, you can do one of the following:

- Before upgrading, make sure that the Persist check box is cleared for the attribute mapping.

- After upgrading, make sure that the attribute mapping is removed manually from all such classes where it is not applicable, and save the configuration.

You can also upgrade the configurations using PML macros and command line. For more information, see Upgrade Configurations Using PML Macros and Command Line.
