AVEVA™ Gateways

Import Mappings from an Existing File

  • Last UpdatedMar 04, 2025
  • 1 minute read

Using the Import feature on the Element Type Mappings page, you can import the class and attribute mappings generated by the AVEVA™ Asset Information Management Gateway (old gateway). When you import the mappings, the class and attribute mappings defined in the respective files are imported for all selected element types. For more information about the compatibility with the old gateway, see Compatibility with AVEVA™ Asset Information Management Gateway.

Note: The mappings imported from an existing file are overridden by mappings specified in the EIWM Object Mapping area of the Element Type Mappings page. For example, if you have already defined a mapping for the Name attribute before importing the mapping, the mapping mentioned by you is retained.

The following image shows the user interface for importing mappings from an existing file.

To import mappings from an existing file:

  1. On the Element Type Mappings page, click Import, and select From ClassMapping.xml or From AttributeMapping.xml based on whether you want to import class or attribute mappings.

  2. Browse to the desired location, select the required file, and click Open.

  3. After the import is completed, a message that the import has been completed successfully is displayed. Click OK.
