Entrainment

The process by which a fluid phase draws in particles of another fluid phase and transports those particles as part of itself. Examples: Solid particles dispersed in a liquid; gas particles dissolved in a liquid; liquid droplets dispersed in a gas; droplets of one immiscible liquid dispersed in another liquid (emulsion).
