point identifier

The unique number, or point ID, that identifies a point. The point identifier is a base attribute primarily used internally within PI Server, but often needed in PI API and AF SDK programming, and in troubleshooting scenarios. PI Server assigns point identifiers sequentially when PI points are created, and does not reuse the identifiers of deleted points.
