Step

An incremental task within an operation. In Manufacturing Execution System (MES), steps provide structured guidance to operators or systems for completing an operation and are executed in sequence as part of a job. Each operation may consist of multiple steps, each representing a discrete action, instruction, or validation point necessary to fulfill the operation’s objective.
