Lot splitting

The division of a material lot for the purpose of moving only part of the lot in a particular material movement. Lot splitting can occur only at an equipment item that is capable of tracking lots. When a lot is split, the divisions become new lots, and AVEVA Production Management links the moved portion and the remaining portion to the original lot.
