A named description of a set of properties that define the shape of a stream, and which serve as a template for creating and classifying time series data.
Example: Basic types such as “PI Float 32” that are uploaded from PI and have value and timestamp properties (attributes in PI), and various Booleans. All streams of this type will have those attributes.
