The AVEVA Integration Service provides a Data API for integration purposes. While the WCF API was once essential, it is now only required for backward compatibility. If you're integrating AVEVA ERM, AVEVA E&I, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Process Simulation, AVEVA PRO/II, or AVEVA ETAP, you will need the WCF API for these products.
However, the WCF API has known security concerns. If you are not using any of the above products, it is recommended to disable the AVEVA Integration Service WCF API for improved security.
