Data Sources Supporting CONNECT Authentication

CONNECT Authentication is a type of token-based authentication, Auth0 is an identity and access management platform that provides authentication and authorization services for applications.

If your organization has a CONNECT account and you and your users are added to that account, and if your data source supports CONNECT authentication, you can configure a data source that uses CONNECT credentials to retrieve data. For more information about CONNECT, refer to the CONNECT user documentation.

Before you can add a data source that authenticates users using CONNECT credentials, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Your users' CONNECT account and user ID must be added as Active Directory users and mapped to a Project user using AVEVA™ Administration. For information on how CONNECT and Project user accounts are used in the Service, see User Account Types in AVEVA Integration Service, and for information on how to add active directory users and map them to a Project user, see the AVEVA Administration User Guide or contact your administrator.

  • You must add the environment variable AVEVA_CONNECT_AUTHORITY_URL and set the value to "https://signin.connect.aveva.com" if you are using OAuth authentication. For information about the authentication your organization uses, contact your administrator.

Note: CONNECT Identity Server is not supported.

The Service currently supports the following data sources using CONNECT authentication.
