You can log on to AVEVA™ Integration Service (Service) using a "Service" user account. A Service user can be any user who has administrator privileges on the computer. The user must also have access rights to the data of various data sources for the Service to retrieve data. Your Windows account can be used as the Service account.
To start the Service using a Service account:
-
Open the Services window.
-
Right-click AVEVA Integration Service, and then click Properties.

-
On the Log On tab of the AVEVA Integration Service Properties dialog box, select the This account option, and provide the credentials for the user who has administrator rights on the computer, and click OK.
Note: By default, the Local System account is used to log on to the Service. However, when you try to connect to a data source that is configured on a network drive, you will be prompted to use a Service account. Also, you must use a Service account when you are connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server, AVEVA™ Asset Information Management or AVEVA™ Enterprise Resource Management data source or any shared project. Therefore, it is recommended that a "Service" user account be used at all times to log on to the Service.

-
If the Service is already running, the message similar to the following is displayed: "The new logon name will not take effect until you stop and restart the service." Click OK.
-
On the Integration Settings Editor, click Start to start the Service directly or click Stop and then Start to restart the Service. The Service is started using the Service account.
Note: Beginning with version 2.3.2, the Service cannot be started from the Services window, and can only be started from Integration Settings Editor. Additionally, you must be connected to the Config API and Data API URLs before starting the Service. For more information about these components, see Components of AVEVA Integration Service.
